Alicja's final subvertisement

After recieving the mark for my first ads, I decided to change some of the design elements to make my remixed ad clearer. I exchanged the chicken for a duck (since the product is for hunting game birds), made more of a contrast between it and the background, and added a word bubble to clarify who's speaking.

God, is this flavour shot thing scary or what? It reminds me of the makeup gun on the Simpsons.

For me, the most effective parts of the ad were the text and the way in which you decided to convey the notion of "dead duck". The rhyming text is something that I haven't really seen a lot of other people do, so it was unique in that sense and rhyme (or any musicality to the text) is something that has been proven to make the message stick in one's head. In that regard, the text works well.

The Looney Tunes style "X" on the eyes is perhaps my favourite part, as it's a culturally encoded representation of death that gets the point across without going so far as to show a literal dead duck with guts everywhere (we'll leave that for Meagan's Pom Ads in my group). It wouldn't have fit, necessarily, to have a real dead duck, so the cartoony representation works to get the message across without overloading the ad.
